Day 2 Recap
- UCLA grew it's lead at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships with a 2-under 286, followed by USC which shot an even 288.
- UCLA’s Lilia Vu and Patty Tavatanakit are tied atop the leaderboard after shooting a 2-under 70 and 3-under 69 respectively. In her first Pac-12 Championship, Tavatanakit has been extremely consistent, posting 3-under 69’s through the first two rounds.
- UCLA Head Coach Carrie Forsyth on her team’s play after Day 2: “We played a little more solidly today overall. We eliminated a lot of the mistakes and definitely played the par-3’s better. Yesterday we were the worst in the field scoring-wise on the par-3’s and I know we played a lot better today on those holes. Overall we know we were one shot better.”
- UCLA’s Lilia Vu Quote: “I really wanted to get it going early on the front nine rather than the back nine, like I did yesterday. I was able to accomplish this today with a 4-under on the front nine. Hopefully our team can go out and win the championship tomorrow.”
- UCLA Freshman Patty Tavatanakit on her consistent play after Day 2: “Patience out on the course is really important to be in a good position emotionally all the time; that has helped me shoot a 69 both days. There were some ups and downs, but I played a lot better than yesterday in regards to par savings. I was able to eliminate the mistakes I made yesterday, so I am really proud of that.”
- Of note, Arizona moved up the leaderboard four spots after shooting the lowest team score of the day, a 3-under 285.
- Tuesday play begins off both the 1st and 10th tees beginning at 9:00 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. respectively.
