UCLA

Always one for a good quote, Josh Rosen said “there were nine mistakes ahead of me” after going 10th overall to the Arizona Cardinals (ESPN). Yes, that is the Rosen we all know and love on the West Coast.

USC

After seeing him go third overall to the New York Jets, Mark Sanchez gave advice to Sam Darnold (through the New York Post) on how to be successful with the Jets. Sanchez was the last quarterback drafted by the Jets in 2009 until they chose Darnold on Thursday.

Washington

Jenna Laine of ESPN has this story on how Vita Vea won over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who selected him 12th overall Thursday night. There’s also a funny story in here near the top about Vea upsetting the entire island of Tahiti by picking up a giant rock that was on the ground.

Oregon

Oregon women’s lacrosse dominated Cal 22-9 in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament Thursday in Boulder. This sets up a semifinal date against top-seeded Colorado Friday at noon PT on Pac-12 Networks.

Colorado

As the Buffs get ready for their semifinal date in the lacrosse tourney, Pat Rooney writes that a loss at Denver in March helped spark Colorado’s late-season push.

California

Cal baseball defeated Stanford 4-3 on the strength of back-to-back home runs Thursday night on The Farm (Pac-12 Networks recap).

Arizona State

Travis Hines of NBC Sports tells us that 7-foot-1 Serbian center Uros Plavsic has signed with Arizona State men’s basketball. Plavsic is going to high school in Tennessee and originally committed to Cleveland State.

Stanford

Stanford women’s basketball incoming freshman Jenna Brown was named the National High School Senior Girls’ Basketball Athlete of the Year by the National High School Coaches Association, it was announced Thursday. Can’t wait to see her play next year (of course, you can listen to all of Brown’s freshman season on gostanford.com, but that’s neither here nor there…).

Arizona

Norma Gonzalez of the Arizona Daily Star ponders if Arizona softball, inspired by geese, can make a playoff run? Gonzales relates the tale of coach Mike Candrea trying to inspire his team ahead of a series with Arizona State by explaining the benefits of the "V" formation geese use.

Oregon State

Danny Moran writes about new Oregon State football coach Jonathan Smith trying to build trust with his players at this early stage in his tenure. Kind of surprising to hear that guys didn’t know all of their teammates’ names, but I guess there are 100-plus of them to remember.

Washington State

The Associated Press takes a dive into Washington State’s quarterback situation with Luke Falk off to some NFL team to be determined perhaps Friday.

Utah

Dirk Facer gives us the 2018 NFL Draft outlook for Utah football. A program-record eight Utes were drafted last year.
