Ten Ducks Receive Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

05/22/18 | Women's Lacrosse

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's lacrosse blanketed the inaugural Pac-12 all-academic teams with 10 Ducks honored by the league Tuesday afternoon.

UO is tied with Colorado for the second-most all-academic awards, with Stanford leading the conference claiming 18 spots, including five of the 12 first team honors. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.

Senior Natalie Modly, junior Shannon Williams and sophomore Caroline Jaworski were all named to the all-academic first team. The trio had the top three GPAs of the 2018 class with all three Ducks earning above a 3.90.

Seniors Cambi Cukar and Jill Zubillaga both earned second team accolades with 3.59 and 3.57 GPAs, respectively, as journalism advertising majors.

Five Ducks received honorable mention nods, including seniors Mariah Gatti and JoJo Hesketh, juniors Julia Taylor and Mandi Trostle and sophomore Gracyn Elliott.

This is the third straight academic all-conference award for seniors Cukar, Gatti, Hesketh and Zubillaga and the second for Modly, Taylor, Trostle, Jaworski and Williams.
