EUGENE, Ore. – Two of the mainstays on the defensive and offensive side of the ball for Oregon the last two seasons, junior linebacker Troy Dye and junior center Jake Hanson were named preseason All-Americans by Athlon Sports on Tuesday morning.
Dye earned a spot on the first team at linebacker and was one of four Pac-12 defensive players on the first team. Recently named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List, Hanson landed on the third team.

One of just five Power 5 players to lead his team in tackles in both 2016 and 2017, Dye has made 20 consecutive starts at linebacker. Dye's team-best 107 tackles and 13.5 stops for loss both ranked fourth in the Pac-12 a year ago to help him finish as the top graded linebacker in the conference, according to Pro Football Focus.

Hanson's string of consecutive starts now stands at 25, as the two-time Rimington Watch List member hasn't allowed a sack in his career. Out of his 25 consecutive starts, Hanson has played every snap in 15 contests and has helped Oregon rush for over 200 yards in a game 19 times.

It's been a busy start to the award/watch list offseason for both Dye and Hanson. Below is a look at their current list of preseason honors.
