TEMPE, Ariz. – After winning the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship in their first two years as a program, Arizona State triathlon and 2017 CTCA Coach of the Year Cliff English announce their 2018 competition schedule which, for the second consecutive year, will culminate in the national championship hosted by ASU in Tempe.
 
Alongside the typical series of USA Triathlon Regional Qualifier races, the Sun Devils will start their season in early September with the addition of the 9/11 Heroes Run in Tempe (Sept. 1).
 
Two weeks later, ASU heads on back-to-back weekends to the Central (Sept. 16) and West Regional (Sept. 23) Qualifiers in Watauga, Tenn. and Longmont, Colo., respectively.
 
Following for the first three competitions, the Sun Devils will have nearly a month to prepare for the final competition before nationals, the East Regional Qualifier (Oct. 20) in Smith Mountain Lake, Va.
 
For the second year in a row, the fall championship schedule ends in Tempe as Arizona State once again hosts the USA Triathlon Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championship at Tempe Town Lake (Nov. 4).
 
Earlier the morning of the national championship, ASU will host the second annual Ignite the Fork triathlon, a sprint distance draft legal age group race. Registration for Ignite the Fork is now open, with the next set of pricing going up at the end of June. Over the past two years, the Sun Devils have had the top individual finisher in five of eight races as a program and have finished first as a team in six of eight (second in the other two).

Sept. 1 – 9/11 Heroes Run (Tempe, Ariz.)
Sept. 16 – Women's Collegiate Triathlon Central Regional Qualifier (Watauga, Tenn.)
Sept. 23 – Women's Collegiate Triathlon West Regional Qualifier (Longmont, Colo.)
Oct. 20 – Women's Collegiate Triathlon East Regional Qualifier (Smith Mountain Lake, Va.)
Nov. 4 – Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championship (Tempe, Ariz.)
