Pac-12 names 2017-18 Tom Hansen Conference medal winners

SAN FRANCISCO The 2017-18 Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal recipients were announced today. A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institutions outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

Conference medal winners have been named every year since the 1960-61 academic year. In 2009, the Pac-12 renamed the award the Tom Hansen Conference Medal in honor of Hansen, who retired at the end of June 2009 after serving for 26 years as Commissioner of the Pac-10.

ARIZONA

Dusan Ristic , Basketball (Novi Sad, Serbia) Became all-time winningest player in program history with 115 victories 2018 Second Team All-Pac-12, Pac-12 All-Tournament Team 28 ^th player in program history to finish his career with 1,000 points/500 rebounds Left McKale Center on Senior Day with one of the most memorable exits, shedding his jersey as he checked out while wearing an undershirt that read "Thank You Arizona" on the front and "Dusan Loves Tucson" on the back.

Claire Green , Cross Country/Track & Field (Louisville, Colo.) Graduated with a degree in Marketing from the Eller College of Management Three-time All-America honoree, earning second-team All-America honors in the mile at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships, second-team honors in the 3,000 meters at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships, and added All-America honors in cross country as well with a 24 ^th -place finish at the 2017 national meet Set a career mark in the mile race (4:39.23) at the 2017 MPSF Championships, posting the second fastest time in UA history She holds the school record in the indoor 3K (9:05.94) 2017 second team Pac-12 All-Academic honors in both cross country and track and fieldNCAA Woman of the Year nominee Member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

ARIZONA STATE

Kodi Justice , Basketball (Mesa, Ariz.) Finished career with 1,043 points after scoring 83 as a freshman. Only one other Sun Devil (Kurt Nimphius, 1976-80 with 27 points) scored 1,000 career points after scoring fewer in his freshman year Averaged 13.0 points per game over final 37 games of career 217 three-pointers made is seventh-best in school history, .402 career three-point percentage is tied for fifth-best in school history 2018 Pac-12 All-Academic honors.

Maggie Ewen , Track & Field (St. Francis, Minn.) Four-time NCAA Champion (2018 discus, shot put, indoor shot; 2017 hammer) Became sixth woman in collegiate history to win the discus and shot put at the NCAA Championships 11-time First Team All-America NCAA record-holder in the hammer (74.53m/244-6.25 feet) and in the shot put (19.46m/63-10.25) 2017 and 2018 Pac-12 Womens Field Athlete of the Year Pac-12 Champion in the discus, shot put and hammer in both 2017 and 2018

CALIFORNIA

Luca Cupido , Water Polo (Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy) 2017 Peter J. Cutino Award as the collegiate water polo player of the year Four-time All-American Earned ACWPC National Player of the Year and the MPSF Player of the Year after leading the MPSF in scoring with 58 goals On the international scene, led Team USA to the gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games. Spent 2016 training with Team USA and made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games.

Emily Boyd , Soccer (Seattle, Wash.) 2017 All-Pac-12 selection and the 2017 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year 2017 Second Team All-American Led the Pac-12 with a 0.879 save percentage and posted a career-best 0.54 goals against average as she played every minute during the 2017 season Posted 36 career shutouts, most in school history and third all-time in the Pac-12 Spent time with the Under-20 U.S. Womens National Team in 2016 in preparation for the FU-20 FIFA World Cup.

COLORADO

Petter Reistad , Skiing (Baerum, Norway) Three-time USCSCA national Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team selection 2018 winner of the Morgan Family Buff Club Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest GPA in his class Posted a 3.961 cumulative GPA as a finance major. Completed an internship as a rick analyst with Norwegian bank DMB, the largest bank in the country, in the summer of 2017 Six-time All-American 2018 NCAA national runner-up in the 10K classic race Team Captain 2017 CU Ceal Barry Leadership Award winner.

Sarah Brown , Lacrosse (Boulder, Colo.) 2018 All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in the Pac-12s inaugural lacrosse season Earned B.S. in Strategic Communications and minor in Environmental Design... Eight-Time ADs Honor Roll. Deans List Fall 2014 Theta KAT Walk fundraiser which helps support the local Boulder Casa (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), the helps kids/teenagers in the foster care system Drafted by the NY Flight Womens Professional Lacrosse League.

OREGON

Kyle Kasser , Baseball (Brea, Calif.) 2018 Senior CLASS Award First Team All-America Team captain Started 150 games split between all four infield positions during his career Earned All-Pac-12 as a junior after hitting a modern-era program record .352 Three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and graduated with a degree in economics 30 ^th round pick in the Major League Baseball Draft.

Gwen Svekis , Softball (Davie, Fla.) Played in 217 games during her career, amassing a 206-36 record and three Pac-12 titles Posted career numbers of 45 home runs and 169 runs batted in Team captain 2018 All-Pac-12 First Team selection, NFCA First Team All-American, NFCA National Catcher of the Year Lead fundraiser ($3,500) and participated in cutting 10 inches of her hair at the St. Baldricks Baldfest event to raise funding for childhood cancer research.

OREGON STATE

Jack Anderson , Baseball (Lake Oswego, Ore.) A walk-on who made the team in 2015 (after failing to make it as walk-on in 2014), he has appeared in 162 (plus CWS) games over the last three seasons Earned All-Pac-12 honors in 2017 Three-time Pac-12 All-Academic member with a 3.69 GPA in Kinesiology Admitted to the Regis University Physical Therapy School and is completing a minor in business and entrepreneurship Helped secure over 5,000 items that were donated during Beavers without Boarders trips. Participated as a member of Beavers without Borders last summer in the Dominican Republic.

Marie Gulich , Basketball (Cologne, Germany) Two-time All-Pac-12 recipient and the medias choice as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year A ESPNW All-American and semi-finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award Sits 13 ^th in Oregon State history with 1,203 career points, fifth in program history with 843 rebounds and third with 193 blocked shots Member of the Beaver Athletics Sustainability Team. Involved with Southside Youth Outreach, which helps provide support to underprivileged youth in Corvallis.

STANFORD

Foster Langsdorf , Soccer (Vancouver, Wash.) Helped the Cardinal to three straight NCAA Championships First Team All-America by United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News 2017 Pac-12 Player of the Year Led team with 14 goals and career-high 34 points. Finished his career as the Pac-12s all-time scoring leader with 37 goals 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist Senior CLASS Award First Team All-America.

Andi Sullivan , Soccer (Lorton, Va.) Team captain who helped lead Stanford to the 2017 NCAA Championship 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy award winner All-Pac-12 First Team and the 2017 Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year Member of the United States national team Active participant in clinics for Female Footballers and Bay Area Womens Sports Initiative.

UCLA

Martin Redlicki, Tennis (Boca Raton, Fla.) Four-time All-Pac-12 performer and 2018 Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year Consistently ranked as the No. 1 singles player in the ITA national rankings his senior season and was honored as the ITA National Player of the Year Two-time singles All-America and three-time doubles All-America honoree Redlicki and teammate Evan Shu were tabbed Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year and captured the 2018 NCAA doubles title Pac-12 Mens Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Christine Peng-Peng Lee , Gymnastics (Toronto, Canada) Nine-time All-American 2018 Honda Award Winner 2018 Honda Inspiration Award Finalist (sat out her first two years at UCLA recovering from two ACL reconstructive surgeries) Led Bruins to 2018 NCAA Team title after scoring perfect 10s on her two events uneven bars and balance beam 2018 NCAA Beam Champion, Pac-12 Beam Champion 2018 Pac-12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year 2017 West Region Gymnast of the Year, 2017 Pac-12 Specialist of the Year Bruin Athletic Council Sociology major.

USC

Jordan McLaughlin, Basketball (Etiwanda, Calif.) Three-time team captain and co-MVP of the 2017-18 Trojan team USC all-time leader in minutes played (4,294), second in assists (738), third in steals (213), third in games played (128), fourth in scoring (1,6480, fifth in three-pointers made (185) Helped lead team to school-record 26 wins in 2017-18, while the teams 71 wins over the last three years are the most wins in a three-season period at USC Graduated with a degree in Sociology and earned masters in Communications Management.

Gussie Johns , Lacrosse (Washington, D.C.) USCs all-time leader in games won (61), ground balls (277), saves (484), and games played (81) Two gold medals won with Team USA at the 2017 FIL World Cup and the 2017 World Games First-ever USC player chosen to Team USA lacrosse Two-time captain, four-time All-Conference selection Three-time Conference All-Academic honoree Member of USCs Trojan Athletic Senate Degree in Business Administration.

UTAH

Martin Bergstrom , Skiing (Pitea, Sweden) CoSIDA Academic All-America, 3.94 GPA in mathematics 2018 NCAA 10-km classic champion 2018 All-America honors in both classic and freestyle 2018 RMISA Mens Nordic Athlete of the Year and the RMISA MVP, leading all mens Nordic skiers in the league with five wins 2017 United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSCA) National Skier of the Year in mens Nordic and 2017 Fasterskier mens Collegiate Skier of the Year Four-time All-American and three-time NCAA champion.

Maddy Stover , Gymnastics (Fullerton, Calif.) Three-time first-team Pac-12 All-Academic selection as she carried a 3.85 GPA in communications 2017 First Team All-Pac-12 (beam) 2015 second-team regular season All-American (beam) Six career victories (all on beam) and hit 53-56 career routines Two-term president of Utahs Crimson Council Three-time Junior Olympic National Champion.

Colby Gilbert , Cross Country/Track & Field (Vancouver, Wash.) 2018 All-America First Team (3,000m indoors) 2017 All-America First Team (3,000m indoors) and Second Team (5,000m indoors) 2016 All-American First Team (DMR and 3,000m indoors) and Second Team (5,000m outdoors) 2016 Pac-12 5,000m Champion 2015 All-American in Cross Country 2014 Pac-12 Cross Country Freshman of the Year School-record holder in the 5,000m (outdoor), and 3,000m and 5,000m (indoor).

Amy-Eloise Neale , Cross Country/Track & Field (Snohomish, Wash.) Earned Conference and USTFCAA All-Academic honors for both cross country and track and field 2018 All-America First Team (5,000m outdoors) 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team 2017 NCAA Cross Country runner-up and All-American 2016 Pac-12 Cross Country Champion, Pac-12 Cross Country Athlete of the Year and All-American 2017 All-America Frist Team (1,500m) and Second Team (Mile) 2017 Honda Award Nominee for Cross Country.

WASHINGTON STATE

Alissa Brooks-Johnson , Track & Field (Doty, Wash.)
