Kendall Ellis placed third in the women's 400m dash final,
Michael Norman advanced to the men's 200m semifinals and
Anna Cockrell qualified for the women's 400m hurdles final during the third day of action at the USATF Outdoor Championships held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Ia. today (June 23).
- Kendall Ellis took third place in the women's 400m final with a time of 50.37. She had a strong stretch run, but could not catch the leaders who both ran personal bests.
- Michael Norman opened the day's action for the Trojans by winning his 200m first-round heat with a time of 20.46 (+0.0). He advances to tomorrow's semifinal with the second-fastest time among the qualifiers.
- Anna Cockrell had a time of 56.51 in the first semifinal heat of the women's 400m hurdles to finish fourth. The top three in both heats of the women's 400m hurdles (reduced to two rounds), plus the next two best times would advance, and Cockrell ended up with the seventh-best qualifying time.
- Mecca McGlaston had a time of 13.46 (-0.6) took eighth in her 100m hurdles semifinal heat and finished 16th overall in the event.
- Madisen Richards placed 10th in the women's long jump with a best leap of 20-4.50/6.21m (-0.4). She opened with two fouls and landed the 20-4.50 jump in her third attempt to move into third in the first section, but after the second section was complete she had missed the cut to the finals (top 8) by one half-inch.

- In the women's 200m dash, Jaide Stepter (USC, 2013-16) advanced to tomorrow's semifinal with a time of 23.14 (-1.7) which was second in her heat and 11th overall. Destinee Brown (USC, 2015-17) had a time of 23.66 (-1.6) to finish sixth in her heat and 20th overall.
- Aleec Harris (USC, 2013-14) had a time of 13.73 (-1.7) to take third in his first-round heat of the 110m hurdles and automatically advance to tomorrow's semifinal. He ended up with the eighth-fastest qualifying time.
