Pac-12 announces women's soccer players of the week

Offensive: Catarina Macario, JR, Stanford (San Diego, Calif.)

• Netted two goals to take down No. 6 Penn State in front of the second-largest crown in Penn State history (5,230). 
• Helped the Cardinal start the season 2-0 and defeat two ranked teams this weekend: No. 6 Penn State (2-1) and No. 11 West Virginia (3-1).
• Earned her third player of the week honor.

Defensive: Brianna Alger, JR, Washington State (Monument, Colo.)

• Assisted on both of the first half goals for WSU including the game-winner against Seattle (4-0).
• First-career start at left back after having been a forward her entire career, doubling her career assists (4) in the first 20 minutes of the new season.
• Helped lead the Cougars to the shutout of Seattle allowing just three shots in the game despite playing on the road.
• First-career defensive player of the week honor.

• Grabbed her 200th career save in the 3-0 win over Iowa State, becoming just the fourth Bruin goalkeeper to record 200 or more saves.
• Recorded one save against Iowa State and one save against Long Beach state to help record the second shutout of the weekned (1-0).
• Competed in 180 minutes of match play this weekened while keeping a clean sheet. 
• Earned her seventh player of the week honor.
