Dec 16, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO - In a poll taken by the league’s eight women’s gymnastics head coaches, defending Conference champion Utah was selected as the preseason favorite to claim a second consecutive Pac-12 title in 2022.

Utah, which won its fourth Pac-12 crown in 2021, received 48 points, including six first-place votes, to edge runner-up UCLA. The Bruins garnered the two remaining first-place votes and totaled 41 points. The two teams have battled for the Conference crown since 2014, with UCLA winning in 2016, 2018 and 2019, and Utah in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021.

California, which advanced to last season's national championships along with Utah, finished third in the poll with 40 points. Arizona State came in fourth (30 points), Oregon State fifth (26 points), Arizona sixth (17 points), Stanford seventh (14 points) and Washington eighth (eight points).
