No. 17 Men's Tennis Hosting Pair of Pac-12 Matches This Weekend

Editor's note: As of Thursday afternoon, Friday's match against Stanford will now start at 4 p.m. MST. 

TEMPE– No. 17 Arizona State Men's Tennis (13-6, 1-0) looks to open home Pac-12 Conference play against No. 33 Stanford on Friday, March 29 at 4 p.m. MST, and No. 59 Cal on Sunday, March 31 at 1 p.m. MST after last week's match against USC was suspended due to weather conditions.

Both matches will be held at Whiteman Tennis Center and will have live stats available, which can be found here. Admission is free to fans and can be followed on @SunDevilMTennis on Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook for match coverage and updates.

Since the program's reinstatement in 2018, Stanford has come out on top in six of seven matches, with the lone loss coming on April 25, 2021 when ASU defeated the Cardinal 4-3.

SUN DEVIL NOTABLES

  • Freshman Bor Artnak leads the team with his 11 singles wins. He posts an 11-2 record in 15 matches this season.
  • In their last six doubles matches, Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone are 5-1. 
  • Roi Ginat, Max McKennon, and Murphy Cassone each have nine singles wins this season. 
  • The Sun Devils have won eight of their last 10 matches. 

PREVIEWING THE NO. 33 CARDINAL (10-4, 2-0)

  • Opened Pac-12 play at home against Washington and Oregon. Stanford shut out both matches 4-0.
  • Stanford has competed against seven ranked teams. They defeated No. 22 Memphis, No. 32 USC, No. 52 Oregon, No. 70 Cal, and No. 74 Washington.
  • Last season, No. 24 Stanford defeated the Sun Devils 1-4 in the Bay.

PREVIEWING THE NO. 59 GOLDEN BEARS (7-6, 2-0)

  • Opened Pac-12 play at home against Washington and Oregon. Cal defeated both teams 4-1.
  • Cal's record includes sweeps against UC Davis, Pepperdine, UC San Diego, and San Francisco. 
  • No. 33 Cal defeated the Sun Devils 2-4 last year at home.
