Women’s Golf Shoots -12 in Second Round at Pac-12 Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. – The No. 5 UCLA women's golf team shot a 12-under 276 in the second round of the Pac-12 Championships at Palouse Ridge Golf Course on Monday.
 
The Bruins were one of nine teams to shoot under par on day. UCLA, at 1-under four the tournament, trails first-place and No. 1-ranked Stanford by 15 strokes heading into tomorrow's final round. USC posted a Pac-12 Tournament record 20-under in today's second round. The Trojans' Catherine Park owns a four-shot lead in first place on the individual leaderboard at 10-under (70-64).
 
Four UCLA golfers finished under par on day two, led by Natalie Vo and Kate Villegas who each fired a 68. Zoe Antoinette Campos and Meghan Royal signed off on a pair of 70s.
 
Campos is 1-under through 36 holes and in a tie for ninth place. Vo's stellar round boosted her 17 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 13th (E). Vo birdied three times and eagled the par-5 17th. She had just one bogey on the par-3 16th.
 
Villegas climbed 12 spots into a tie for 32nd (+3). After an even-par front nine, Villegas went on a tear of four birdies on her final five holes to end the round.
 
Royal is tied for 21st (+1). The sophomore transfer from Arkansas eagled on the par-5 10th and birdied on her final two holes of the day.
 
UCLA tees off for round three tomorrow morning, beginning on hole one at 8:50 a.m. (PT).
