Postseason Begins Wednesday vs Utah

Apr 23, 2024

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team will play Utah in Wednesday's opening round of the 2024 Pac-12 Championship in Tempe, Ariz. First serve is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility. The entire three-day tournament will air on the Pac-12 Networks.

Oregon and Utah will be meeting for a seventh time at the Pac-12 Championship, and 12th time overall. The Ducks hold a 6-5 edge in the all-time series with three of those victories coming at the conference tournament in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The Utes won last year's opening-round dual.

The winner of the morning dual advances to play top-seeded USC at 3:30 p.m. with the losing side going into the contenders bracket. The Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship is a double-elimination event.

Wednesday will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. The Ducks posted a 3-2 win over Utah (April 5) during the Pac-12 North weekend in Seattle. Oregon won the first three points of the dual with Landree Coats and Bella Gamache clinching the team victory at No. 3 pairs. The team also won on courts two—Jensen Kaelin and Ashley Schroeder—and four—Natasha George and Sophie Gregoire.

The Ducks closed out their regular season with a 4-1 road victory at Portland (April 19). The hosts struck first with a win at No. 5 pairs but Oregon rattled off the final four points including the clinching tally by George and Gregoire.

Coats and Gamache lead the team with seven wins followed closely by six for the Kaelin-Schroeder and George-Gregoire pairings. Schroeder enters the week ranked second in program history with 42 career dual wins while George cracked that top-10 list season and currently has 23 victories, good for seventh.
