USC Lacrosse's Heaney and Vitale Named USA Lacrosse All-Americans

May 9, 2024

SPARKS, Md. - USC lacrosse graduate student Ella Heaney (Garden City, N.Y.) and redshirt junior Isabelle Vitale (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) received USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American honorable mention status as named by the publication on Thursday, May 9.

Both players earned All-Pac-12 First Team honors, and Heaney was also named the Pac-12 Attacker of the Year. Heaney became the first Trojan to claim the award since it started being handed out in 2018. Vitale, on the other hand, is a three-time All-Pac-12 honoree, having received first-team recognition twice and second-team honors once. Heaney tallied the most points for the Trojans as she scored 73 points on 43 goals and 30 assists. The attacker was also given Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season, more than any other attacker. Vitale led the Trojans and the Pac-12 in assists, as she dished out 43 assists this season. The redshirt sophomore scored 66 points, scoring 23 goals on the season.

The Women of Troy (12-5, 6-1 Pac-12) finished the 2024 season in second, falling one game short of Stanford for the regular season conference title. USC missed a bid at the NCAA tournament, as it was one of the first few teams out after finalizing its season in the Pac-12 tournament semifinals.
