<br /><br />The 2017 baseball season at the University of Washington is full of lofty expectations thanks in part to a roster chocked full of experienced returners and talented newcomers. A large part of why the group of newcomers is ranked in the top-10 is thanks to local star Christian Jones and his decision to stay home and play college ball.  

Baseball Achieves Highest Academic Success Ever

<br /><br />SEATTLE - The Husky Baseball team earned the Washington Team GPA award for winter quarter after combining for a 3.31 grade point average. The combined GPA of 3.31 was not only the highest among UW men's big squads, it was also the highest quarterly GPA ever by any Husky Baseball team.

Jake Locker Featured Speaker At First Pitch Dinner

<br /><br />Fans, alumni, friends and family are invited to join the Husky Baseball team for the 2017 First Pitch Dinner on Saturday, February 11 at 6:00 pm in the Don James Center.  The evening will give fans, players and alumni a chance to celebrate the past, and get to know the current Diamond Dawgs.  The night will include a reception, buffet style dinner, and a keynote address from the former Los Angeles Angels minor leaguer and Husky football hero Jake Locker.  

UW 21st In Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll

<br /><br />The Huskies are ranked 21st in Collegiate Baseball newspaper's Fabulous 40 NCAA Division I pre-season poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum. Washington is coming off a 33-23 season in which they finished second in the Pac-12 Conference and played in the NCAA Nashville Regional.  

Omaha Challenge Recap: Team Recon Rallies

<br /><br />In what has become an annual team-building competition for the Husky Baseball players, Team Recon consisting of AJ Graffanino, Josh Cushing, John Naff, Michael Petrie, Tommy Costello, Adam Davenport and Joe Demers won the 2016 Omaha Games. Team Recon beat Team LRRPs in the four-day competition's final event – the tug-a-war – to rally for the victory.
