For the first time in CU history, the Buffaloes have placed a pair of athlete on the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Division I All-America teams. Junior outside hitter Alexa Smith was named to the second team, while freshman setter Brynna DeLuzio earned honorable mention status.
Every season has to come to an end at some point, and that point for the Colorado Buffaloes came on Friday afternoon against No. 5 Nebraska (25-19, 25-11, 25-21) in the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The 24-9 Colorado Buffaloes will take on No. 5 Nebraska on Friday, December 8, in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament in Lexington, Ky. First serve is set for 12 p.m. MT/2 p.m. ET. It will be streamed on ESPN3.
The awards continue to roll in for members of the Colorado volleyball team as junior Alexa Smith was named to the AVCA All-Pacific South Region team and Brynna DeLuzio was named the AVCA Pacific South Region Freshman of the Year in addition to earning all-region team honorable mention honors.
