OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- For the sixth time in program history and first time in consecutive years, the University of Washington women's basketball team is headed to the Sweet 16 where they will face No. 2-seed Mississippi State at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Friday (March 24).
SEATTLE -- For the first time since 1995, the University of Washington women's basketball team was selected to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. The No. 3 seeded Huskies beat No. 14 seed Montana State 91-63 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and the 13th time in program history.
SEATTLE -- Senior Kelsey Plum scored 29 points in the second half and fellow senior Chantel Osahor had her 28th double-double of the season with 16 points and 19 rebounds to lead the No. 3 seed University of Washington past Montana State. The Huskies pulled away in the second half for a 91-63 win to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Monday (March 20).
