BOULDER-- Cross country standouts Stephen Pifer (senior) and Jenny Barringer (junior), were named University of Colorado Athletes of the Week for the week of November 5-11. This is the first CU athlete of the week of the year for Pifer and the second for Barringer. Pifer now has four career honors, while Barringer now has ten moving into a tie for second place on the all-time winner list with former men's basketball star Shaun Vandiver.
Summer officially started on Wednesday, but it won't be long until the Colorado cross country teams are back competing this fall, kicking off the 2017 campaign on Sept. 1 at the Colorado State Ram Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo.
BOULDER- Cross country runners Carrie Verdon and Jake Hurysz earned CU Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday for their athletic performances during the week Sept. 24-30. CU's Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Silk, Horizon and International Delight.
BOULDER-- Football running back Hugh Charles (senior) and cross country standout Jenny Barringer (junior), were named University of Colorado Athletes of the Week for the week of November 17-24. This is the second CU athlete of the week award of the year for Charles and the third for Barringer. Charles now has three for his career, while Barringer now has 11 which moves her into sole possession of second place on the all-time list.
BOULDER-- The University of Colorado junior Alexis Austin (volleyball), senior Julyette Steur (tennis), senior Blake Theroux (cross country) and senior David Oraee (men's golf) earned CU Co-Athlete of the Week honors Tuesday for their play during the week of September 29-October 5.
