USC claims its first swimming and diving title

FEDERAL WAY, WASH. — USC claimed its first ever Conference title on final day of the Pac-12 Women’s Swimming and Men’s and Women’s Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King Country Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. The four-day meet featured fast swimming and exquisite diving with American and Conference records, historic program finishes, all capped with the Trojan victory with 1481 team points.

Year in and year out,  Pac-12 women’s swimming sports some of the best swimmers in not just the United States, but on the international level as well. The 2016 Pac-12 Women’s Swimming Championships will again showcase several NCAA standouts and Olympians from all over the world. As of Feb. 16, five teams were ranked in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top-25 poll, including four in the top 15 and two in the top five.

Pac-12 announces women's swimming & diving postseason awards

SAN FRANCISCO — STANFORD freshman Ella Eastin was named Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Year, as well as Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year. Cardinal head coach Greg Meehan and USC head coach Dave Salo were named Pac-12 Women’s Swimming Co-Coaches of the Year, the Conference office announced today. The awards were voted on by the Pac-12 head women’s swimming coaches. Additionally, STANFORD sophomore Gracia Leydon-Mahoney was named Pac-12 Women’s Diver of the Year. UCLA’s Eloise Belanger was tabbed Pac-12 Women’s Diving Freshman/Newcomer of the Year, and STANFORD diving coach Patrick Jeffrey was named diving coach of the year. The awards were voted on by the Pac-12 women’s diving coaches.
