Paul Named Honorable Mention All-American

BOULDER — Yannik Paul, who set or shared in 23 records over the course of his golfing career at the University of Colorado, has been named to the honorable mention PING All-America team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Thursday.             Paul was CU's team leader in stroke average at 70.24, which was also good for fourth in the Pac-12 Conference and 11th in the nation, and in the process set the CU single-season record; he broke his older twin's (Jeremy) mark of 70.66 set in 2015-16.  His spring average of 69.64 shattered the old best as well, and became the first school record for an average under 70 in any category.  He was the team leader or tied for the lead in 21 statistical categories, perhaps the most impressive the fact that he has just six holes out of 612 worse than bogey all year (four doubles and two triples).

Golfers Finish Seventh At NCAA West Regional

STOCKTON, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team pulled to within two shots of fifth place, the final qualifying spot for the NCAA Championship Finals, but eventually slipped into a seventh place finish here Wednesday as the NCAA West Regional came to a close.                    CU turned in final round score of 2-over par 290, finishing with 54-hole score of 862 (2-under); that would in the end be 10 strokes back of fifth place, though it was much closer than that most of the day.   Late double- and quadruple bogeys took the Buffaloes out of red numbers for the day and let No. 6 LSU, the region's top seeded team, slip by them into sixth.

CU Golfers Move Into Sixth Place At NCAA Regionals

STOCKTON, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team rode the proverbial rollercoaster here Tuesday, but at the end of the day, the Buffaloes posted the second-best score in moving up a notch into a tie for sixth through two rounds of the NCAA West/Stockton Regional.                    No. 42 Colorado recorded a 6-under par 282 score, but things didn't start off well.  At one point, the Buffs were 2-over and had slipped from a tie for seventh into one for 11th in the 13 team field.  But a strong back nine, including playing the last three holes at 4-under, thrusted CU up into a tie for sixth with a 4-under 572 total through 36 holes, one spot back of the last qualifying spot for the NCAA Championship Finals later this month.

Golfers Open In Tie For Seventh At NCAA West Regional

STOCKTON, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team didn't have a spectacular day here Monday, but regardless the Buffaloes are in the thick of things after the completion of the first round of the NCAA West/Stockton Regional.                    Colorado, ranked 42nd in the country, is tied for seventh after posting a 2-over 290 team score, but has two rounds remaining to climb into the top five, as those will advance to the NCAA Championship Finals in two weeks.

Buff Men Ready For NCAA West Regional

STOCKTON, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team arrived here Saturday ahead of the NCAA West Regional with the goal to snap a 15-year drought: getting the Buffaloes back to the NCAA Finals for the first time since 2002.                   The West/Stockton Regional begins Monday, with coach Roy Edwards' team getting in a few practices back home in Boulder around final exams and graduation ceremonies.  With those now behind them, the Buffs can now focus on finishing in the top five of 13 teams competing here, which would earn CU that trip to the NCAA Finals.  Colorado has knocked at that door several times over the past 15 season but hasn't been able to walk through it.
