Arizona earned its 17th trip to the College World Series, which is tied for the seventh-most all-time in NCAA history, after beating Mississippi State in games one and two in the Super Regional in Starkville, Miss. In the first game, All-Pac-12 honoree Bobby Dalbec threw a gem for the Wildcats in their 1-0 victory. The junior went 8.2 scoreless innings while only allowing five hits and striking out nine batters. In game 2, the Wildcats were down 5-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning when first baseman Ryan Aguilar hit a three-run home run to bring Arizona right back into the game. After a run in the bottom of the ninth to extend the game, Arizona won it in the bottom of the 11th with a walk-off single from freshman and Tucson native, Cesar Salazar.
