The Utah Runnin' Utes (20-11) received a bid to play in the National Invitation Tournament and will host Boise State (19-11) at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Tuesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. MT. The 32-team bracket was announced Sunday night on ESPNU.
Salt Lake City is the only tournament site hosting both a No. 1 and No. 2 seed in Gonzaga and Arizona, respectively. Also playing in West Region bracket games at Vivint will be Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Saint Mary's, VCU, North Dakota and South Dakota State.
Utah junior David Collette, along with sophomores Parker Van Dyke and Jake Connor, were each named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Tuesday. Collette and Van Dyke were both named second team selections, while Connor earned honorable mention.
The Utah Runnin' Utes (19-10, 10-7) enter the 2017 Pac-12 Championship Tournament as the No. 4 seed and earned a first-round bye. Utah will face the winner of No. 5 seed California and No. 12 seed Oregon State on Thursday, March 9. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. PST at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
