Utah Rallies To Tie Buffaloes For Simpson-CU Invitational Honors

ERIE — The University of Colorado men's golf team was caught by Pac-12 Conference rival Utah in the final round and the Buffaloes and Utes wound up sharing the title here Tuesday as the 8th Annual Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational came to a close.   Ties are technically not broken in college golf, so this counts as a win for both teams; but the CU and Utah coaches held a playoff to see their players perform under the kind of pressure that could lie ahead down the road.  The Utes won the playoff on the first extra hole.

Golfers Take Lead In Own Mark Simpson-CU Invitational

ERIE — The University of Colorado men's golf team came out blazing in tying the tournament single round record and ended the day in first place in its own 8th Annual Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational.                   The Buffaloes own a 15-under team score of 561, largely due to a 13-under 275 effort to open the event.  But the tournament is far from over, as Wyoming is just two strokes off the pace at 563 with Utah four back at 565; two others are within range as well, as rounding out the top five are Oregon State (570) and Air Force (571).

Golfers Rally To Tie For Sixth At UNM Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of Colorado men's golf team rallied in a big way here Saturday, at one point pulling to within three strokes of the lead before settling for a tie for sixth place as the 63rd Annual New Mexico William H. Tucker Intercollegiate came to a close.

Golfers Sitting In Ninth At UNM's Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of Colorado men's golf team opened well but couldn't sustain solid play as the day progressed, as the Buffaloes find themselves in ninth place after the first two rounds of the 63rd Annual New Mexico William H. Tucker Intercollegiate.                   No. 14 Nevada-Las Vegas owns the 36-hole lead, as the Rebels were the only school out of 17 competing here to finish two rounds under par, and barely at that with a 1-under 575 team score.  Washington holds the runner-up spot and appears to be the only real challenger to UNLV ahead of Tuesday's third and final round, as the Huskies were the only school to record a subpar second round team score and are six back at 5-over 581.  UNLV led after 18 holes with a 6-under 282 tally.

Buff Golfers Slip Into Third At AFA-Miranda Invitational

USAFA, Colo. — The University of Colorado men's golf team slipped one spot into third place but remain in the overall hunt as the second round of the 49th Annual Gene Miranda-Air Force Falcon Invitational was completed here Saturday.
