In week two of Pac-12 spring football the odd couple of Mike Yam and Rick Neuheisel bring you analysis on what to watch for in the quarterback races Saturday, April 26 on the Pac-12 Networks as Arizona State, Utah, USC and Washington square off for their spring games. They also welcome ASU starting quarterback Taylor Kelly to the show who shares why he visited Rick over his spring break and what type of throw he knows he most needs works on. The duo finish it off with a "Gridiron Lullaby" from Rick's first days at Colorado as a quarterback and wide reciever coach in 1994 as he shares his firsthand experience learning about the Colorado spring weather that literally changes at the drop of a dime.
Moments to listen for:
1:35 Mike demonstrates his raspy voice and shares he has changed from a "Christina Aguilera type of guy" to a "Shakira type of guy". Yup, just starting out the show strong.
4:07 Rick analyzes the circus of Arizona's current depth chart of six or seven players who could potentially play quarterback and shares why he thinks redshirt junior Jerrard Randall should be the frontrunner.
7:45 Rick explains why said he would be shocked for Stanford to have a player with over 25 carries this upcoming season and why that poses a problem for Stanford's keep-away offense.
12:30 Rick tells Mike he needs to take the competition factor and use it to get out there and compete for a female companion, plus other priceless life advice.
14:06 The duo analyze what naming two true sophomore captains at Colorado (Sefo Liufau and Addison Gillman) means for the this season's leadership needs in Boulder and why the Buffs' first game is so important.
17:15-32 Arizona State's Taylor Kelly joins the show to describe his spring break trip to Manhattan Beach to spend time with Rick on the new Pac-12 Networks original series "Under Center with Rick Neuheisel", share what pass he needs to work on the most and the battle he fought to earn the quarterback position under Todd Graham. ASU takes the field April 26 at 11 a.m. PT for the Sun Devils' spring game on Pac-12 Arizona.
33:30 Rick tells why he's certain Travis Wilson will earn the quarterback spot following the reports he's been completing heavy reps at practice, but also expresses concern for his passing accuracy thus far. 35:50 - trying to find new keith price - does chris peterson get a by his year after losing that much talent and with an unknown qb - is there less pressure in year one and he wouldn't allow it anyways or lowering expectations - if one can excite the crowd on saturdya - cyler miles has the talent to come back and be the starting qb - shaw thompson can't play both ways tailback and middle linebacker on defense too physically demanding - so they're going to have to make choicehttp://pac-12.com/event/2014/04/19/spring-football-game-1 April 26 1 p.m. PT washington
