TEMPE – Former Olympian and Sun Devil All-American Malcolm E. Spence II died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last week at the age of 81. Spence was a pioneer for what is now the world sprinting powerhouse Jamaica, and won the bronze medal for the Caribbean nation at the 1960 Olympic Games in the 4x400-meter relay.
TEMPE – The Arizona State track and field program made one final addition to its coaching staff as the Sun Devils welcomed former Georgia assistant Javonie Small, director of track and field Greg Kraft announced, Monday.
TEMPE – The Arizona State University track and field program will hold open tryouts for current students on Thursday, Oct. 5. All students interested in participating in the tryout session will need to read the information and complete the necessary paperwork no later than Oct. 2, 2017.
TEMPE – The Arizona State cross country and track and field program has added former All-American Cory Leslie to the coaching staff as an assistant coach, head cross country coach Jeremy Rasmussen announced Friday.
LONDON – Former Arizona State NCAA champion Amy Cragg earned the bronze medal at the IAAF World Championships in the marathon as one of seven Sun Devils competing at the championships in London Aug. 4-13.
