Video: Washington's McLaughlin, Penn State's Rose put friendship on hold for semifinal match

SEATTLE – You know the old saying: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Friends and enemies will be one and the same during Thursday’s NCAA semifinal matchup between Washington coach Jim McLaughlin and Penn State coach Russ Rose, who have known each other for many years. Though it’s unclear when and where they first met, Rose told the media Wednesday that the pair knew each other from coaching in spring tournaments and working together on the USA men’s volleyball staff.
