Stanford Intercollegiate Next For Women's Golf

Pullman, Wash. --- The Washington State women's golf team will try to get back on track this weekend at the Stanford/Pepsi Women's Intercollegiate.

The event will be played Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the par-72 Stanford Golf Course.

Senior Jennifer Dodd, juniors Tasha Browner and Becky Greggain, sophomore Jackie Stevens, and freshman Emily De'Ath will make the trip to Stanford for Washington St.

Browner leads the team with a 76.1 scoring average and set the single round school record with a 67 at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in September. Dodd is second on the team with a 77.1 average.

Sophomores Shanelle Roberts and Donna Bell, who helped WSU make their first postseason appearance last spring, are still battling sickness and are out of the lineup indefinetely.

The tournament field features 14 of the top 50 teams in the nation, including No. 2 Arizona, No. 3 USC, and No. 5 Stanford.

Headlined by the nation's top collegiate player, Stephanie Keever of Stanford, the field also features 19 of the top 50 players in the country.

The Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate is the fourth tournament of the fall season for WSU. The fifth and final event will be the Edwin Watts Intercollegiate at Kiawah Island, S.C., on Nov. 5-6.
