Women's Tennis Advances In Riviera All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Lauren Kalvaria (Indialantic, FL) and Keiko Tokuda (Clifton, NJ) each picked up first round wins on Thursday in the Riviera Women's All-American Tennis Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.

The Riviera is the second leg of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Grand Slam. Kalvaria defeated Katarina Markovski of South Carolina 6-3, 6-4 in first round singles action. Tokuda had a 6-4, 6-2 win over Virginia Commonwealth's Martina Nedelkova.

The second round and quarterfinals for singles play are scheduled for Friday, while the doubles quarterfinals are set for Friday as well.
