Tara VanDerveer To Chat On ESPN.com

STANFORD, Calif. - On Friday at 9:30 a.m. PT, Stanford Cardinal Women's Basketball coach Tara VanDerveer will stop by ESPN.com to answer user questions on the team and the upcoming season.

VanDerveer has accumulated an impressive 497-142 (.778) record in 21 years of collegiate coaching. Additionally, during seven USA Basketball coaching assignments, VanDerveer has a remarkable 88-8 (.917) record and enters the 2000-01 season just three wins shy of 500 for her collegiate coaching career. She has led Stanford to two NCAA titles, five NCAA Final Four appearances, nine Pacific-10 Conference titles and 11 NCAA Tournament berths in her 14 seasons on The Farm.

Three times VanDerveer has collected National Coach of the Year (1987-88, 1988-89, 1989-90) and District Coach of the Year honors (1987-88, 1988-89, 1989-90), and she has been named Pac-10 Coach of the Year on four occasions (1988-89, 1989-90, 1994-95, 1996-97). Additionally, VanDerveer earned Northern California Women's Intercollegiate Coach of the Year honors five times a six-year span in the late 80's and early 90's(1987-88, 1988-89, 1989-90, 1991-92, 1992-93).

For her contribution to the game, VanDerveer was inducted into the Women's Sports Foundation Hall of Fame in October of 1998. She is also a member of the Indiana University Hall of Fame and the Greater Buffalo Hall of Fame.
