Bruin Soccer Team Falls To Washington, 2-1

Seattle, Wash. - The 13th-ranked UCLA men's soccer team suffered another loss in Pac-10 play, falling 2-1 to 16th-ranked Washington in Seattle. The Bruins drop to 10-6 in the season, 1-5 in the Pac-10, while the Huskies improve to 11-5, 5-1 in the conference.

UCLA got on the scoreboard first in the 33rd minute when freshman forward Cliff McKinley headed in a Jimmy Frazelle cross from seven yards out. The goal was McKinley's second of the season.

But Washington came roaring back after halftime, taking 12 of its 17 shots and seven of its nine corner kicks in the second period. Bryn Ritchie scored the equalizer in the 75th minute on a header off a corner kick, and the Huskies scored the game-winner off a corner kick in the 85th minute.

UCLA goalkeeper DJ Countess made four saves, while Washington's Chad Olsen made three.

The Bruins will host Stanford and California next week in the regular season finales at Drake Stadium at 2:00 pm.
