Head of the Lake Completes Fall Season for Women's Rowing

SEATTLE, Wash. - - With Jack Frost nipping at their noses, the Cougar women's rowing team closed their fall season Sunday against a diverse gathering of teams in the Head of the Lake Regatta at Montlake Cut in Seattle.
The varsity eight squad finished fifth with a time of 17:46.65, just behind Oregon State (17:40.30), the University of California-Berkeley (17:18.94), the University of Victoria (17:05.56), and the University of Washington (16:48.68). Also placing fifth in its race was the junior varsity eight with a time of 18:14.50. The third varsity eight placed sixth in its competition with a time of 19:38.14.
This event marked the end of a fall season in which WSU competed in three regattas, winning the Head of the Spokane against Gonzaga October 28. The spring season begins with the Fawley Cup March 24.
