Laura Granville Wins ITA Regional Singles Championship

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's Laura Granville (Chicago, IL) defeated teammate Gabriela Lastra (Reno, NV) 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 to win the ITA Regional Women's Tennis Singles Championship Monday at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. Freshman Lauren Barnikow (Woodbridge, NJ) and junior Lauren Kalvaria (Indialantic, FL) teamed up to win the doubles title with a 7-5, 6-2 win over top-seeded Granville and Lastra.

Granville, the No. 1 ranked player in the ITA Rankings, was the tournament's top seed and went 6-0 en route to the title. Lastra was the sixth seed and finished with a 5-1 record.

In the doubles final, which was played indoors due to rain, second-seeded Barnikow and Kalvaria finished with a perfect 5-0 record with the upset win over the No. 1 seed.
