Cal Volleyball Shutsout Oregon, 3-0

BERKELEY, CA - The University of California women's volleyball team (11-15, 6-12) defeated Oregon (10-17, 2-16), 3-0 (15-2, 15-6, 15-9) Friday night at Cal's RSF Fieldhouse. It was the Bears final home match of the 2000 season and final home contest for Cal seniors Alicia Perry, Tala Banatao and Laurel Kokaska.
Perry led the Bears with 14 kills and nine digs. Other top performers for Cal were junior Candace McNamee with 11 kills and a .833 hitting percentage (11 kills, one error, 12 atttempts), and sophomore Leah Young with 11 kills and a .471 hitting percentage (11 kills, three errors, 17 attempts).
Oregon was led by Monique Tobbagi and Halie Mazza with 10 kills apiece.
The Bears will next travel to the UNM-Domino's Albuturkey Classic, Nov. 24-25 in Albuquerque, NM. Cal opens the tournament Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. versus Northern Arizona. If the Bears defeat the Lumberjacks, they will play the winner of the New Mexico-San Francisco match Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
