Oregon State Falls To No. 19 Oklahoma, 78-60

HILO, Hawaii (AP) - J.R. Raymond made five 3-pointers and three teammateshad two apiece as No. 19 Oklahoma ran away from Oregon State 78-60 Sunday toclaim the Big Island Invitational championship.

As a team, the Sooners (5-0) made 12-of-21 from long distance with HollisPrice, Nolan Johnson and Kelley Newton each adding two.

Oklahoma wasted little time knocking off the previously unbeaten Beavers(4-1).

Nolan Johnson and Hollis Price hit consecutive 3-pointers in 17-5 run to capa 17-5 run that led to a 40-25 halftime lead.

The Beavers made a brief run at the start of the second half, getting withinnine points, but Raymond converted three free throws and followed withback-to-back 3-pointers to blunt the comeback effort.

Raymond, who averaged 8.3 points in four previous games, finished with 21points with Johnson contributing 18 and Price, the tournament's outstandingplayer, and Newton 10 apiece.

The Sooners also dominated on the boards, outrebounding Oregon State 29-16with reserve Daryan Selvy getting eight and Johnnie Gilbert six.

For Oregon State, Deaundra Tanner was high with 14 points with Brian Jacksonadding 12 and Jason Heide 11. By comparison, the Beavers had six 3-pointers,but they all came in the final four minutes when the game was already decided.

Oklahoma's biggest lead was 29 points with 8:06 remaining on back-to-back3-pointers by Raymond and Price.
