Bergquist and Gulbrandsen Honored by Pac-10

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Bringing their fall collegiate seasons to a close, University of Oregon junior Adam Bergquist and sophomore Erinn Gulbrandsen were honored Tuesday to the Pacific-10 Conference Cross Country All-Academic Teams.
On the men's side, Bergquist, a double major in exercise and movement science and general science, was named to the seven-man first team, based on his 3.96 GPA and 17th-place Pac-10 Championships finish. During the year, he ranked third on the team in all four races, including a 34th-place finish at the NCAA Western Regional Championships.
Other first-team honorees included Scott Abbot of UCLA, Garret Jensen of Arizona State, Scott Johnson of Washington State, Nick Martin of Cal, and Thomas Murley and Adam Tenforde of Stanford.
Gulbrandsen led the UO women with second-team honors for her 3.97 GPA in english and exercise and movement science majors. She scored for the team at three straight meets during the heart of the season, including the Pac-10 Championships (40th), and ranked top seven in all seven contests.
Other second-team mentions included Washington State's Megan Maynard and Jenny Filipy, Stanford's Caroline Annis and Kathleen Brizgys and Arizona's Tara Chaplin.
Duck women named to the honorable mention squad included sophomores Annie Davis and Eri Macdonald.
