OSU Has Seven In Pacific-10 Rankings

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State has seven wrestlers included in the first Pacific-10 Conference rankings of the season, which were released Thursday. The Beavers were led by top-ranked Nathan Coy at 174 pounds and Jason Cooley at heavyweight.

OSU (1-0 overall, 1-0 Pacific-10) also had second-ranked wrestlers in 125-pounder Nathan Navarro, 141-pounder Shane Cunanan, 133-pounder Ben Richards and 157-pounder Eric Jorgensen. Ranked fourth was 184-pounder Isaac Weber.

The Beavers remained No. 19 in the InterMat national dual meet rankings this week, and six Oregon State wrestlers were nationally-ranked by InterMat. Navarro was seventh at 125 pounds, Jorgensen was ninth at 157 pounds, Cooley was 10th at heavyweight, Richards was 18th at 133 pounds, Weber was 18th at 184 pounds and Coy was 19th at 174 pounds.

OSU gets a chance to go against some of the nation's best teams and wrestlers Friday and Saturday in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Classic. The 53-team tournament annually includes over half the nation's top 25 teams.
