Women's Basketball Player of the Week (12/4/00)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE sophomore guard Nicole Funn has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 27-Dec. 4, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Funn, from Carson, Calif., averaged 25.5 points and 9.5 rebounds as the Beavers posted non-conference road victories against Ohio University and Marquette. On the week, she shot .545 percent (18-of-33) from the field and .750 (15-of-20) from the free throw line.
In a 99-72 win over Ohio University, Funn scored a career-high 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting (.632) and grabbed a career-high tying 10 rebounds. She went 10-for-14, scoring 21 first-half points en route to her first career double-double. In a 64-50 victory over Marquette, Funn reached double figures in scoring for the fifth time this season with 16 points and led all players in rebounding with eight boards.
Funn leads Oregon State in scoring (19.6 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg), and has started all five games for the 5-0 Beavers this season.
This is Funn's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Oregon State's 21st Player of the Week honor all-time.
