Kemp Drafted in Eighth Round of WUSA Draft Sunday

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Allie Kemp, a former Cal women's soccer player, was drafted in the eighth round of the inaugural Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) Draft Sunday by the Boston Breakers.

Kemp, who hails from Encinitas, played in the midfield and up front for the Golden Bears from 1993-96, earning first team All-Pac-10 honors in 1996 and third team NSCAA all-region recognition in 1995.

The draft concludes with the final seven rounds Monday. WUSA, the first women's professional soccer league in the U.S., begins its season in April 2001.
