WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA junior forward Elizabeth Pickney has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 4-11, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Pickney, from Houston, Texas, averaged 20.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while leading the Wildcats to a 3-0 record for the week. In the three home victories, she shot a combined .489 from the floor (23-for-47), .824 from the line (14-for-17) and hit her first career three-pointer.

Against UNLV on Dec. 6, Pickney shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor en route to 20 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. She led the Cats to the title of their own Arizona Basketball Classic Dec. 8-10 and was named to the all-tournament team. Against Bowling Green, Pickney posted a game-high 20 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals. In the victory over Fresno State, she led all scorers with a season-high 21 points while grabbing nine rebounds. She also knocked down her first career three-pointer versus the Bulldogs and was 6-of-6 from the line.

Pickney leads Arizona (6-1 overall) and ranks fifth in Pac-10 scoring with 17.7 points per game. This is Pickney's second career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Arizona's 20th Player of the Week honor all-time.
