LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Texas Tech faces its second straight ranked opponent when it takes on Oregonon Wednesday.

After winning their first five games, the 11th-ranked Red Raiders lost tothen-No. 21 North Carolina State 59-51 last Saturday. The defeat dropped TexasTech from No. 8 in the AP Top 25.

Texas Tech shot 15-for-47 and had 28 turnovers, and leading scorer PlenettePierson fouled out with 11 minutes to go.

'From my perspective, it was really disappointing,' Tech coach MarshaSharp said. 'Certainly we kind of got away with it in the first half but inthe second half it killed us. We really have to learn how important everypossession is.'

The No. 14 Ducks (4-1) lost 82-58 to then-No. 25 Texas last Saturday in theopener of a three-game road trip.

Oregon's leading scorer Angelina Wolvert, leading rebounder Jenny Mowe andforward Brianne Meharry fouled out, and Texas went 22-of-25 from the free-throwline.

The trio came in shooting a combined 62 percent from the floor but went just11-of-27 against Texas.

'I think we ran out of gas early and we just couldn't do anything aboutit,' Wolvert said.

Texas Tech beat Oregon 68-63 in the teams' only meeting on Dec. 1, 1986.
