Huskies Down Florida International In Final Seconds

MIAMI (AP) - Greg Clark hit a 16-foot jump shot with 3.2 seconds left tobreak a tie as Washington beat Florida International 63-61 on Saturday night.

Carlos Arroyo, who led all scorers with 21 points, took the final shot ofthe game for FIU (2-7), but his three-point attempt bounced off the rim as timeexpired. The loss was the sixth straight for the Golden Panthers.

Thalo Green scored 15 points for Washington (4-3) and Bryan Brown added 14.Will Perkins had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies.

The score was tied 32-32 at the end of the half. Washington built itsbiggest lead of the game, 57-49, with 5:39 remaining.

But FIU would go on a 12-4 run and tie the game at 61 with 37 secondsremaining on a three-point basket by Slavcho Slavtchev, who finished with 17points.

The Huskies, with the ball, ran the clock when Brown hit Clark with a passalong the baseline leading to the game-winning shot.
