Men's Basketball Drops To Auburn, 101-97

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Adam Harrington hit a 3-pointer and added two free throwswith 38 seconds to go in overtime as Auburn handed Oregon its first loss,101-97, Saturday in the opening round of the Las Vegas Showdown.

Marquis Daniels and Scott Pohlman each scored 21 points for Auburn (8-3).Jamison Brewer added 20 points, Harrington 16, and Lincoln Glass 11. Brewer andDaniels had nine rebounds apiece.

Bryan Bracey led Oregon (6-1) with 31 points and 11 rebounds. AnthonyNorwood added 16 points, Julius Hicks 14 and Ben Lindquist 13.

The score was tied at 91 at the end of regulation. The Tigers trailed 88-84with 1:28 remaining when Harrington hit a running layup to pull Auburn withintwo.

Oregon's Bracey made one of two free throws to put the Ducks ahead by threewith 44 seconds left, but Glass hit a 3-pointer to tie the score at 89.

Bracey again gave Oregon the lead with two free throws, but Auburn answeredwhen Scott Pohlman hit a baseline jumper. Oregon had two late chances to score,but Kyle Davis blocked Bracey's shot in the lane and a half-court attempt byJulius Hicks rimmed out.

Oregon led by 12 at the half, outscoring the Tigers 15-5 in the last 6:44.
