Mike Cokley lifted from Suspension

Dec. 18, 2000

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University sophomore guard Mike Cokley has had his suspension from the team lifted, Beaver head coach Ritchie McKay announced Monday.

Cokley, a 5'8' native of Knappa, Ore., missed games at Denver and vs. Wyoming last week while under suspension for violating a team policy. Cokley started six of the first seven games and was averaging 2.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 rebounds.

'The team is enthusiastic about the return of Mike,' McKay said. 'He has played very well to this point in the season, and he gives us much-needed depth. I believe this whole matter is behind us, and we are ready to move forward with the rest of our season.'

Oregon State (4-5) will attempt to break a five-game losing streak when it hosts Eastern Washington (4-4) Tuesday at Ralph Miller Court in Gill Coliseum. The Beaver game-day roster will include nine players for the first time this season.
