WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- STANFORD freshman guard Susan King has been named the Pac-10Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 11-18, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

King, from Richfield, Minn, led all scorers with a career-high 21 points in No. 15 Stanford's
63-58 loss to No. 2 Tennessee Dec. 17. Playing point guard against the Lady Vol press, King
shot 50.0 percent from the field (7-of-14), notching a career-high three 3-pointers. She
added five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 39 minutes of play before a crowd of
9,246 at Thompson-Boling Arena. King, who sustained a concussion in practice last week, did
not practice with the team until Dec. 16.

King is second in scoring (11.6 points) for the 5-2 Cardinal and paces the team with 5.43
assists per game (2nd Pac-10).

This is King's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Stanford's 39th Player of the
Week honor all-time.
