Dec. 20, 2000

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's women's basketball team, working in conjunction with NIKE, will hold a mini-clinic on Thursday afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club in southeast Portland.

'We wanted to do a community service project in Portland,' commented Oregon State head coach Judy Spoelstra. 'We're extremely excited to provide a clinic for the Boys and Girls Club.'

The hour-long clinic will run from 2-3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club located on 7119 SE Milwaukie Avenue.

Between 60-80 youths are expected to be in attendance while the Beavers demonstrate basic basketball skills and fundamentals. NIKE representatives will be on hand to provide posters and T-shirts for participants.

Later in the evening, Oregon State will hit the hardwood at the University of Portland for a 7 p.m. contest against the Pilots. The Beavers (6-1) look to get back on the winning track against a 5-3 Portland squad.
