WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC junior forward Sam Clancy has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 25-Jan. 1, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Clancy, from Fairview, Ohio, averaged 19.5 points, 10.5 points, 4.5 blocks and 2.5 steals last week as the Trojans posted a 1-1 record, losing 63-61 to Northwestern and defeating Long Beach State 95-73.

Clancy scored 15 points on 7-14 (.500) shooting with 11 rebounds, three blocks and four steals in the two-point loss at Northwestern. He posted his third consecutive double-double, and fourth of the season, with 24 points on 12-15 (.800) shooting, 10 rebounds and a career-high tying six blocked shots in the win over Long Beach State. For the week, Clancy shot 19-29 (.655) from the field.

It is the first weekly award for Clancy, the 22nd all-time honor for the Trojans.
