Peter Dalis Receives Contract Extension

UCLA athletic director Peter T. Dalis and the UCLA administration have agreed on a contract extension, it was announced today.
Dalis' old contract expired on December 31, 2000. The extension will run through June 30, 2002. Terms of the contract were not announced.
Dalis is in his 18th year as UCLA's athletic director. During his tenure, UCLA has won 36 of its 83 NCAA team championships - six more than any other UCLA athletic director and over 43% of UCLA's all-time total - played in 12 bowl games and has played in the NCAA men's basketball tournament 13 times, including each of the last 12 years. UCLA has placed in the Top Five in all seven years of the Sears Directors Cup competition for all-around programs, finishing second twice, including 1999-2000, and third three times.
