Ninth-Annual Pac-10 Indoor Women's Tennis Tournament

SEATTLE - The 26th-ranked Washington women's team kicked off the ninth annual Pac-10 Indoor Tennis Tournament today held at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center on the Washington campus. The three-day event began at 9 a.m. and concludes on Sunday, Jan. 14.

All nine Pac-10 teams that sponsor women's tennis (Oregon State does not) are represented in the event, which features four singles flights and three doubles flights. The top three singles flights only will include a consolation bracket.

In Flight I singles, Washington's own, senior Kristina Kraszewski downed California's Raquel Kops-Jones in the first round of competition, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Sophomore Darija Klaic lost to Stanford's Keiko Tokuda, 7-5, 6-0. In Flight II singles action, freshman Claire Carter defeated Anna Dybicz of Washington State in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
