Klaic Finishes Strong on Final Day of Pac-10 Indoor Women's Tennis Tournament

SEATTLE - Sophomore Darija Klaic of the 26th-ranked Washington women's tennis team won her final round on the final day of the Pac-10 Indoor Women's Tennis Tournament at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center on Sunday.

Klaic took California's Raquel Kops-Jones to three grueling sets before winning, 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-4. This was Klaic's first championship victory in the Pac-10 Indoor Women's Tennis Tournament. Klaic made it to the quarterfinals of the Flight II singles bracket last year before being knocked out by USC's Anita Loyola, 6-1, 6-3.

Klaic teamed up with senior Kristina Kraszewski in the Flight I doubles semifinals to take on to Stanford's Laura Granville and Gabriela Lastra. The duo lost to 9-8(3).

The Husky netters will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 20 to take on Boise State at noon in the season opener held at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center.
