Washington Wins Overtime Thriller Over Oregon, 72-71

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Curtis Allen slipped through Oregon's defense for alayup with six seconds left in overtime to help Washington upset Oregon 72-71Thursday night.
Luke Ridnour sank a jumper at the buzzer, but officials ruled the shot cametoo late.
Bryan Bracey, who entered the game leading the Pac-10 in scoring at 19.2,had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Ducks (10-4, 1-3). Eighteen of his pointscame in the second half and in overtime.
The Ducks were undone by poor outside shooting. They lead the conference in3-pointers per game at 8.9, but made just three of 22 from outside. AnthonyNorwood, Luke Ridnour and Freddie Jones were 3-for-16.
Washington led from the start of the game until the final minute, when apair of free throws by Bracey put the Ducks ahead 62-61 with 47.5 seconds left.Another free throw by Bracey with 18 seconds left gave the Ducks a two-pointlead. But a layup by Allen with 11 seconds left tied the score and sent thegame into overtime.
In the extra period, the teams traded baskets until Bracey put Oregon on top71-70 with 50 seconds to go. A missed shot by Washington, followed by an Oregonturnover, gave the ball back to the Huskies with under 10 seconds to play.
Allen weaved into the lane between Oregon defenders and laid the ball offthe backboard for the game-winner.
