Men's Tennis Falls to #30 Indiana State
Jan. 19, 2001
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Oregon men's tennis team started their winter dual competition against a very tough Indiana State team on Friday night. The match was played in the first round of the Foster Klima Ice Volleys Classic. The Ducks battled to three sets in two singles matches but were defeated 7-0 by the Sycamores.
'Our doubles were close,' said Oregon head coach Chris Russell. 'And we were competitive at 1, 2 and 3 singles. We're a young team, but we hope these guys keep trying to find ways to win. We have a lot of work to do, but we will definitely make some strides.'
Tomorrow, the Ducks will play in a consolation game against the winner of the match between Minnesota and North Carolina State.
